Competitive Play
Competitive play in Animo is meant to be fun, fair, and balanced for everyone. To support that goal, certain cards may have restrictions, updated wording, or other special rules when used in official tournaments.
For competitive play and tournaments, 77 Virtue Points shall be required for victory (instead of 60).
- Banned Cards: At this time, no cards are banned, meaning all are eligible for competitive play under the specified restrictions.
- Restricted Cards: Certain cards are limited to one copy per deck.
- Errata: Some cards require updated wording or gameplay rules for tournament use.

Banned Cards
There are currently no banned cards for tournament or competitive play.

Card Adjustments for Play
The following cards have updated text that must be used in tournament or competitive play.

1st edition Troobloo - #11
Troobloo from the 1st edition may still be used, provided it follows the UNIQUE ability rule of "SWAP" as shown above in the 2nd edition printing.

1st edition Stagnetic - #13
Stagnetic from the 1st edition may still be used provided it follows the UNIQUE ability rule of "Preserve Faith" as found in the 2nd edition.

Ellie #134
If Ellie is to be used during competitive or tournament play, in which the victory condition is 77 Virtue Points- The card ability must be played as followed:
"Victory Condition: Win by scoring 70 Virtue Points."
For casual game play, where the victory condition is 60 Virtue Points, the card may be used as originally printed.

Flo Ultra - #46
Flo Ultra (RLD46), may still be used in play, but the ability is to be considered a UNIQUE ability by the name of "SWAP".

Hoofit - #7
The errata for Hoofit (FL7) sees clarification in the ability text that prohibits players from including this same card as one of the three cards that are shuffled back into their deck when using this ability.
